Los Angeles- Killer Mike was detained in Los Angeles on Sunday after winning three Grammys at the 66th annual event.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 48-year-old rapper and activist was arrested after "a physical altercation" in the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court, outside the ceremony at Crypto.com Arena in Downtown Los Angeles, just after 4 p.m.
A female security guard told Rolling Stone that Killer Mike, actual name Michael Render, harmed her at the event. Police informed the newspaper that the performer requested the arena security guard for his ticket at her allotted entry.
Source says woman said Render attempted to get around her instead passing through security. She "ran around and got in front of him again."
The publication says Render "pushed her to the ground." The security guard allegedly had hand and finger injuries. A source told the newspaper that the lady called for aid, prompting other security personnel to surround Render and contact the police.
The publication said that the female security guard was treated, photographed her injuries, and signed a citizen's arrest for misdemeanor violence.
Render was arrested for minor violence and released on his own recognizance at 8:37 p.m. He's due in Los Angeles court on Feb. 29.
A Hollywood Reporter staff reporter shared video on X of the rapper getting handcuffed.
A video character says, "Mike, are you serious?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm serious," Killer Mike says as he leaves.
