Oprah Winfrey recently told the “Sherri” program about a younger boyfriend who cheated on her.
The media mogul told Sherri Shepherd, “I followed him to his other girlfriend’s house. I witnessed it firsthand and exclaimed, ‘I saw you…I saw you!’ ‘You gonna trust me or your lying eyes?’
He shocked Sherry, causing Oprah to say, “Really! I thought, ‘Well, maybe that wasn’t his car.’ Was bad.”
In related news, Lionsgate's Debmar-Mercury renewed “Sherri” for a third season today.
The renewal follows “Sherri” finishing second this season among syndicated talkers in the advertiser-friendly midday demo of women 25-54, according to the news release.
“Sherri” has won five NAACP Image Awards, including Outstanding Host in a Talk or News/Information (Series or Special) – Individual or Ensemble, and one for Outstanding Talk Series in 2023. She also has four Daytime Emmy nominations. Shepherd received a People's Choice Award.
“I’m so excited to continue bringing joy, laughter and inspiration to our viewers,” Shepherd said.
“I greet people with ‘Hey Family!’ because I appreciate being invited into their homes daily. "Thank you to Debmar Mercury, FOX Television Stations, and all of my broadcast partners for supporting and trusting me to bring fun and comedy to daytime," she said. "And as season three begins, expect the unexpected!"
Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus said, “We thank our great station partners for continuing to make Sherri the centerpiece of their daytime lineups. These extensions are a testament to Sherri and the program's exceptional production staff, who in less than two seasons have established this show a daytime fixture for fans, stations, and advertisers.
