Joe Biden condemns Trump’s Immunity Win: ‘No One is Above the Law’

The recent Supreme Court decision that granted former President Donald Trump protection for certain of his presidential acts in relation to the federal election interference case was condemned by President Joe Biden.

This ruling almost ensures that the trial over Trump's effort to block the transition of power following the 2020 election won't start before election day.

In remarks from the White House, Biden stated, "The American people must decide whether Donald Trump's assault on our democracy on January 6th makes him unfit for public office, the highest office in the land," according to Deadline.

Biden went on, "The American people have to decide if his embrace of violence to maintain his power is acceptable."

He referred to the uprising on January 6th as "one of the darkest days in American history."

Biden stated, "My predecessor only sent a violent mob to the Capitol four years ago to stop the peaceful transfer of power." We were all able to witness it firsthand. That day, we saw things unfold as we sat there.

The Supreme Court ruling "very certainly means that there are almost no limits to what the president can do," according to Biden. This idea is essentially novel. The power of the office will no longer be limited by the law, making it a risky precedent.

Biden thinks Trump "will be even more emboldened to do whatever he pleases whenever he wants to do it" if he wins the 2024 presidential election.

President Biden declared, "This country was founded on the principle that there are no kings in America." "We are all equal in the eyes of the law. Even the US president is subject to the law, thus nobody is above it.

According to Biden, "any president, including Donald Trump, will now be free to ignore the law" as a result of the Supreme Court's decision.
