Obama Campaign Official Peggy Moore and Wife Die in Car Crash

Last Friday, a Southern California vehicle tragedy killed former Obama campaign staffer Peggy Moore and her wife.

NBC Bay Area said that Moore, 60, and her husband, Hope Wood, 48, were passengers in a Jeep pickup truck that hit a Chrysler car on Highway 76 near Fallbrook in San Diego County. The Jeep's 60-year-old driver and Chrysler's driver died. An second Jeep passenger survived the crash.

“Many of her friends and family are shocked and comforted by their immediate departure. That they went instantly without suffering and united," former Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf told KRON4.

Schaaf stated, “She had been the state director of Obama and she agreed to the campaign manager for a one-term council member who was challenging the incumbent in 2013–2014.

Moore and Wood met in 2008 while campaigning for Obama. According to NBC Bay Area, Oakland community leaders co-founded Hope Action Change, a diversity and equality consultancy and coaching organization, in 2019.
