“Comic View” returns to BET+ on March 14 after a 16-year sabbatical, according to a press release.
Mike Epps will host the reboot of the iconic stand-up comedy franchise, produced by Kevin Hart's Hartbeat, with an all-star lineup of comedians, including Brandi Denise, Jayski, DC Young Fly, Tony Roberts, Navv Greene, Bresha Webb, Tommy Davidson, Lavar Walker, Tacarra Williams, and rapper Tip “T.I” The relaunch series will feature T.I.'s standup debut.
Variety said that Hart revived BET's “Comic View” on his 44th birthday weekend in Las Vegas from July 6-9, 2023. Live-audience programs were recorded.
The news announcement states that the first series began on BET in 1992 and featured new and seasoned comedians from throughout the country delighting the public with their side-splitting comedy. Classic comedians D.L. Hughley, Cedric The Entertainer, Kevin Hart, and Sommore have hosted it. December 2008 was its last episode.
