According to a post on X, the social media network formerly known as Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk indicated he may need surgery and is planning an MRI on his neck and upper back.
Musk, who is also the CEO of X, SpaceX, and Neuralink in addition to Tesla, stated that he will know more this week. The automaker's stock fell over 1% on Monday.
If Musk, 52, ever needs surgery, his ailment may divert part of his concentration away from his various executive duties. It might also put off the anticipated sparring match between him and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Since Meta debuted its new text-based social media site Threads, which many have promoted as a rival to X, the two billionaires have been trading barbs online. The couple has agreed to collide physically, albeit it is uncertain whether a cage battle would take place.
According to a post on the platform, Musk claimed on Sunday that the fight will be aired on X and that all proceeds will go to a veterans' organization. On Sunday, Zuckerberg announced on Threads that he had offered Aug. 26 as the date for the match, but Musk had not confirmed.
"Not holding my breath," wrote Zuckerberg.
