Rudy Giuliani Injured in Car Crash After Assisting Domestic Violence Victim

📰 New Hampshire, August 31, 2025 — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was seriously injured in a car accident Saturday night after stopping to help a woman involved in a domestic violence incident, according to his spokesperson.

The 81-year-old was traveling through New Hampshire when he was flagged down by a woman in distress. Giuliani reportedly rendered aid and contacted emergency services, remaining on the scene until police arrived to ensure her safety.

Shortly after resuming his journey, Giuliani’s rental car was struck from behind at high speed on a highway. The collision left him with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg. He was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he is currently recovering.

“This was not a targeted attack,” said Michael Ragusa, Giuliani’s head of security. “No one knew it was him. He sustained injuries but is in good spirits and recovering tremendously”.
The incident underscores Giuliani’s continued public presence despite recent legal and political controversies. Once dubbed “America’s Mayor” for his leadership following the September 11 attacks, Giuliani has remained a prominent—if polarizing—figure in U.S. politics.

His son, Andrew Giuliani, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, writing on social media: “Your prayers mean the world”.
Authorities have not released further details about the domestic violence case or the identity of the woman involved. The New Hampshire Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
