A bizarre and disturbing incident unfolded at Miami International Airport this week when a 23-year-old woman from England was arrested for allegedly attempting to abduct a 4-year-old boy—claiming the child was her own.
👮 The Suspect: Alvina Omisiri Agba
Authorities identified the suspect as Alvina Omisiri Agba, a resident of Luton, England. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Agba approached a mother and her crying son at a security checkpoint early Tuesday morning. She offered to help soothe the child, and when the mother allowed her to hold him, Agba allegedly walked away and refused to return the boy.

🧒 “No, This Is My Child”
The situation escalated quickly. When the mother confronted Agba and demanded her son back, Agba allegedly responded, “No, this is my child,” and physically resisted attempts to retrieve the boy. Witnesses say she wrapped her arms and legs around the child to prevent him from escaping, even pushing the mother away during the struggle.
🦸♀️ A Bystander Steps In
The commotion drew the attention of Naylet Montano, an airline employee who intervened and took the child to safety behind a counter. Agba reportedly crawled under the counter, shouting for her “child” to be returned, until three men blocked her path. She then fled the scene but was apprehended at another checkpoint shortly after.
🧠 “God Told Me to Do It”
In a statement to deputies, Agba claimed she was drawn to a rainbow-colored wall and believed it would help calm the boy. She also said she acted because “God told her to do it.” Authorities confirmed she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.
⚖️ Charges and Detention
Agba has been charged with interference with custody and two counts of battery. She is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami. The child was safely reunited with his mother, and no serious injuries were reported.
