Violinist Brian King Joseph Spoke Publicly Before Filing Lawsuit Against Will Smith

Just days before filing a high‑profile sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against actor and musician Will Smith, acclaimed electric violinist Brian King Joseph posted a public message hinting at troubling experiences on Smith’s 2025 global tour. The resurfaced video, shared in December 2025, has taken on new significance as details of the lawsuit continue to unfold.

A Rising Star With a Major Opportunity
Joseph, a fan‑favorite finalist from America’s Got Talent Season 13, joined Smith’s Based on a True Story: 2025 tour after performing at a San Diego show in late 2024. He was later invited to continue performing on additional dates and even contribute to Smith’s upcoming album.

The opportunity placed him on one of the biggest stages of his career — but according to Joseph, the experience quickly turned dark.

🎥 The Public Message That Sparked Attention
In a December 2025 Instagram video, Joseph spoke directly to fans about an unnamed but “major” artist he had been touring with earlier in the year. Without naming Smith, he described a shift from excitement to fear:

He said he couldn’t share details because the situation had become a “legal issue,” but emphasized why he felt compelled to speak out:

Joseph also addressed others who may have experienced similar situations, saying:

The post ended with a caption urging followers to “stand up for your beliefs and what is right no matter what”.

⚖️ The Lawsuit Filed Days Later
On December 30, 2025, Joseph filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles County against Smith and his company, Treyball Studios Management. The complaint alleges:
•     Sexual harassment
•     Retaliation
•     Wrongful termination

Joseph claims Smith “deliberately groomed and primed” him for sexual exploitation after hiring him for the tour. The lawsuit also describes a disturbing March 2025 incident in Las Vegas, where Joseph says someone entered his hotel room — booked by Smith’s team — and left items suggesting a “sexual threat of violence,” including:

•     A handwritten note reading “Brian, I’ll be back… just us” with a heart, signed “Stone F”
•     Wipes
•     A beer bottle
•     A red backpack
•     HIV medication with another person’s name
•     Hospital discharge paperwork belonging to someone he didn’t know

Joseph reported the incident to hotel security, police, and Smith’s management. Shortly afterward, he says he was fired and replaced by another violinist.

🛑 Smith’s Response
Smith’s attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, has strongly denied all allegations, calling them:

Smith’s team says they intend to use all legal means to clear his name.

🎶 A Case That Continues to Grow
Joseph’s lawsuit has drawn widespread attention not only because of Smith’s global fame but also because Joseph spoke publicly before filing — a move that now appears to have foreshadowed the legal battle ahead.

His message, once cryptic, now reads as a warning about the dangers of reporting misconduct in the entertainment industry.

As the case proceeds, both sides are preparing for what could become one of the most closely watched entertainment lawsuits of 2026.
