While Cam Jordan battled the San Francisco 49ers on the field, burglars targeted his home off it — a growing trend among professional athletes.
New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan became the latest victim in a string of high-profile athlete home burglaries when his Metairie residence was broken into on September 14, the same day the Saints hosted the 49ers at the Superdome.
According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, four suspects from the Atlanta area allegedly entered Jordan’s home through a back door while it was unoccupied. Jordan’s family was attending the game, and no injuries were reported. Jordan later acknowledged the incident on social media, writing, “Yah that Sunday sucked… the most important things, my family, was and is safe”.
Swift Arrests and Ongoing Search
Within 24 hours of the break-in, authorities arrested Donald Robinson, 28, of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Jadon Brown, 19, of Conyers, Georgia. Investigators traced a rental vehicle used in the burglary to Conyers, where they recovered some of Jordan’s stolen property.

Two additional suspects — Jahaun Suber, 20, and Devell Ortiz, 19, both of Conyers — remain at large. Warrants have been issued, and federal agencies including the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service are assisting in the search.
Charges are expected to include simple burglary and possession of stolen property, though federal charges may also be considered.
A Pattern of Targeting Athletes
Sheriff Lopinto noted that the burglary appears to be part of a broader pattern of criminals targeting professional athletes during games, particularly on weekends. Similar incidents have affected stars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow, and Luka Dončić in recent months.
The FBI has warned that organized theft rings — including South American Theft Groups — may be behind many of these burglaries. These groups often operate with “fences” who buy stolen goods and coordinate burglaries across state lines.
Cam Jordan’s Legacy and Response
Jordan, 36, is a cornerstone of the Saints defense and one of the NFL’s most respected players. A 15-year veteran, he’s an eight-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, and the Saints’ all-time sack leader with 124 career sacks.
Despite the unsettling incident, Jordan expressed gratitude that his loved ones were unharmed and praised law enforcement for their swift response.
Authorities continue to investigate whether the suspects are linked to other burglaries targeting athletes. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers.
