Saints Storm Back to Beat Titans 34–26, Extending Win Streak to Four

The New Orleans Saints delivered one of their most resilient performances of the season Sunday, rallying from a 13–0 deficit to defeat the Tennessee Titans 34–26 on the road. The victory marked the Saints’ fourth straight win and showcased the growing confidence of rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, who continues to look like a long-term answer under center.

A Rough Start Turns Into a Statement Win
Tennessee came out firing, jumping ahead 13–0 behind two Joey Slye field goals and a 43‑yard touchdown strike from Cam Ward to Chig Okonkwo. But the Saints refused to fold.
New Orleans’ first spark came from the defense. Star pass rusher Chase Young ripped the ball from Ward and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown, flipping momentum and cutting the Titans’ lead to 13–10. Tennessee answered with another touchdown before halftime, but the Saints entered the break down just 20–10—still within striking distance.

Shough Takes Over the Second Half
The second half belonged entirely to New Orleans. Shough opened the third quarter with a smooth 74‑yard drive capped by a 19‑yard touchdown to Chris Olave, who finished with 119 yards on eight catches. Rookie kicker Charlie Smyth added a 57‑yard field goal—his second from 50+ on the day—to pull the Saints within three.

After Tennessee briefly extended its lead to 26–20, Shough responded with his most impressive series of the afternoon. He hit Olave for a 63‑yard catch-and-run, then found Kevin Austin Jr. for the first touchdown of Austin’s career, giving New Orleans its first lead with 6:22 remaining.

Estime Slams the Door
With the Titans reeling, running back Audric Estime delivered the knockout blow. On a beautifully blocked zone run, Estime broke free for a 32‑yard touchdown, sealing the Saints’ 34–26 victory with under four minutes to play.

Estime finished with 94 yards on 14 carries, continuing his emergence as a physical, reliable presence in the backfield.

Defense Closes It Out
Tennessee had two late chances to tie the game, but the Saints’ defense held firm. Cameron Jordan’s pressure forced a key fourth‑down reversal on review, and the final Titans drive stalled under heavy heat from the New Orleans pass rush.

A Team Finding Its Identity
The Saints are now 6–10, but their recent surge—four straight wins, all with Shough at the helm—suggests a team building real momentum under first-year head coach Kellen Moore. Shough’s efficiency (22‑of‑27 for 333 yards and two touchdowns) and poise continue to impress, while the defense is producing timely, game-changing plays week after week.

For a team that struggled early, this December run is starting to feel like a preview of what’s possible in 2026.
