According to an NFL Network story from Monday night, running back Dalvin Cook has agreed to a one-year deal with New York. The deal, according to Pelissero, may be worth up to $8.5 million, the highest compensation offered to a running back in the offseason's free agency.

Cook ran for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022, contributing to a Vikings squad that won the NFC North by a four-game margin. He was selected for his fourth straight Pro Bowl, but in Minnesota's defeat to the Giants in an NFC wild-card game, he only managed to gain 60 yards.
On September 11, the Jets will play the Bills to start the season.
