Derek Fisher now coaching High School basketball
Derek Fisher is now coaching at the high school level, less than a decade after serving as the head coach of the New York Knicks.

Crespi Carmelite High School announced on Monday that it had signed former five-time NBA champion Fisher as its new head basketball coach. According to prep writer Jack Pollon, here is the release.

Fisher, 48, spent the majority of his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers. After retiring, he became the head coach of the New York Knicks from 2014 to 2016, however he was a flop, going 40-96 (.294) before being sacked by the franchise.

Fisher most recently served as head coach of the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks from 2019 to 22. Fisher had a sub.500 record with the powerful Sparks in 2021 and was sacked midway through the season the following year.

Crespi is a private Catholic all-boys school located in Encino, California. Last season, the men's basketball team ended 18-12 (seventh in their league), and coach Andrew Moore resigned last month after four seasons in command. Fisher will now be in charge of Crespi's basketball program, which is a two-time state champion.
