A$AP Rocky Will Stand Trial for Allegedly Shooting At A$AP Relli

On charges that he shot A$AP Relli outside a Hollywood hotel in 2021, A$AP Rocky will go on trial.

The rapper, whose true name is Rakim Mayers, entered a not guilty plea to two felonies of assault with a semiautomatic handgun in August of 2022 despite his insistence that he is innocent. Judge Villar reportedly said at a preliminary hearing on Nov. 20 that there is enough evidence for Rocky to go to trial, according to The Jasmine Brand.

As previously reported, Terell Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, is a former buddy of Rocky's, and Rocky is accused of wielding a weapon during an incident with him. He is charged with reportedly aiming a semiautomatic pistol in the victim's direction.

Prosecutors claim that after a different altercation with Relli, Rocky pulled out a revolver and fired twice at the victim. The shooting resulted in a slight injury for the victim.

Prosecutors showed a video of A$AP Rocky brandishing a gun during a brawl with A$AP Relli at this week's court, as reported by The Jasmine Brand.

Lawyers for Relli said that A$AP's actions had been "extreme and outrageous" and that their client had experienced "extreme emotional distress" in court documents that the PA news agency was able to obtain, according to Independent.

According to the documentation, "Defendant (Mayers) purposefully or with reckless disregard unlawfully brandished a firearm towards the plaintiff (Ephron)."

Rocky faces two charges of assault involving a semiautomatic weapon. He could spend up to nine years in prison if found guilty.
