Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are still recovering from their affair-related firings.
On the latest edition of their podcast, the pair said they miss working together on TV.
After their affair was uncovered, ABC News fired Robach and Holmes in January 2023. ABC News president Kim Godwin warned colleagues in December 2022 that the couple's relationship had become “an internal and external disruption,” Variety said.
Holmes dated Robach after a 10-year marriage to Marilee Fiebig. Although married to actor Andrew Shue, Robach had an affair with Holmes.
The Holmes and Robach ex-spouses are reportedly dating, according to USA Today. Over six months, Shue, 56, and Fiebig, 46, have trauma-bonded, according to Page Six.
In their new podcast, Robach and Holmes describe how their romance “taken from them” their jobs.
In a recent episode of their podcast, Amy & T.J., Robach expressed tears about the strain they face when working together.
I don't feel public pressure to stay with you, she added, "But I feel pressure of our careers that I believe were unfairly taken from us."
Robach said she coped by drinking heavily on a previous broadcast. Her 2023 alcohol consumption exceeded 30 drinks each week.
Drinking always boosts my joy. I like that added kick. I enjoy laughing. Perhaps my favorite activity in life... Yahoo reports that she said on the Jan. 10 podcast episode “A Year On The Rocks” that life is more pleasant if you don't drink too much.
Robach drank more following the GMA dismissal due to unemployment.
Laying low. So I did what? I drank much. Much more than before. I've never drank every day as I did in 2023, Robach said.
“I’m appalled when I look back at how much I actually drank,” she added, drinking 21-30 alcoholic drinks every week.
Holmes reported drinking 18 drinks each week.
December booze delivery service Drizly cost the couple $2,869.
