The couple Robin Roberts and Amber Laign are legally wed.
"A joyful reception followed by a small, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard. Oh, the dancing!" Along with a picture of herself and Laign holding hands while wearing their wedding gowns, Roberts said on Instagram on Sunday.
"We are incredibly appreciative of everyone for helping to make it a day and a night to remember. Here we go on our honeymoon," Roberts added.
The couple, who have been together since 2005, got married on Friday.
The "Good Morning America" veteran anchor also showed video of her family dancing to Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It" as they made a toast at the wedding reception, which Roberts called "one of many highlights."
According to "GMA" on Sunday, Roberts and Laign were married by Roberts' childhood pastor in custom Badgley Mischka wedding gowns.
Roberts informed author and motivational speaker Gabby Bernstein in January that she intended to wed Laign this year.
"We had discussed it, but we had postponed doing it. She became sick," Roberts said to Bernstein.
Throughout their relationship, Laign and Roberts have both faced significant health challenges.
In a video broadcast to her verified Twitter account in February 2022, Roberts said that Laign had been given a breast cancer diagnosis. In July of that year, she informed her fans that Laign had finished some of her treatment.
Roberts revealed that she was battling breast cancer in 2007. She also disclosed in 2012 that she had been given a myelodysplastic syndrome diagnosis and had received a bone marrow transplant to save her life.
The newlyweds seem to have discovered the ideal time to celebrate their love now that those health challenges are behind them.
"Many people go into marriage hoping for and looking for what Amber and I already know we have, so ours is a celebration," Roberts remarked on "GMA" in August. It's a celebration because "we've been living our happily ever after through all the ups and downs."
