Remaining Tulsa Race Massacre Survivors to Speak Before Oklahoma Supreme Court – Fighting for Reparations
Oklahoma City (KOCO)— The survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre continue to demand restitution.

The survivors, Lessie Benningfield Randle and Viola Fletcher, both 109, were heard by the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre sue the city for public nuisance.

We won't leave. As long as there's injustice, righteous people will strive to convince Oklahomans to do the right thing. D-Tulsa state Rep. Regina Goodwin said Oklahoma is not OK.

During July, a Tulsa district judge dismissed the claim with prejudice. In August, attorneys appealed to Oklahoma's highest court to overturn the case rejection.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court let the last Tulsa Race Massacre survivors testify in February. The hearing is at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hughes Van Ellis, a third filing survivor, died at 102 in October.
